This fall let us help you empower your employees with operator training at AIS in Lansing MI. Our small classes give students the opportunity to hone their skills and properly utilize the tools built into today's evermore powerful machines.
Loader Operator class– Pre-operation inspection, general operations, truck loading, material handling, piling, and backfilling.
October 7th-9th
General Excavations class – Pre-ops inspections on Excavator and Backhoe, general operations, trenching and shoring safety, grade stakes, grade lasers and rod reading, pipe laying, manhole setting, and trench box use. Involves backhoe, mid-size excavator, and mini-excavator. May also include tamper applications and use.
October 14th-18th (first class)
October 21st – 25th (2nd class if first class fills)
Dozer class – Pre-ops inspection, general operations, grade stakes, grade laser and rod reading, grading, slopes, pond shaping, and berm building.
October 28th-November 1st (first class)
November 4th – 8th (2nd class if first class fills)
Roadbuilding and Utilities class - Staking out the job site, locating and exposing existing utilities, trenching in a new utility such as sewer or water, tying into a stub, bedding, backfilling, and compacting a trench, finish grading the “road”, and prepping for curb and gutter.
December 2nd-6th Class 1 - Initial offering
December 9th-13th If class 1 fills
December 16th-20th If class 2 fills
Custom Operator Training Opportunities
We can build individual machine training programs to fit your needs and schedule. Whether it be for a group or an individual. NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Operator Certification is awarded for satisfactory completion.

LEVEL I. INDIVIDUAL MACHINE NOVICE TRAINING
This 4-5 day class is for the person with little or not operating experience.
The student will develop basic operating skill for the particular machine.
Gain experience in performing machine inspections and maintenance.
Perform normal machine operations.
Up to 32 hours of hand on experience.
Upon satisfactory completion of the training, the trainee receiving 80% or higher on his or her written and hands on test, they will receive a certificate by AIS Training Center.
LEVEL II. INDIVIDUAL MACHINE INTERMEDIATE TRAINING
For the operator with limited experience.
This is a three-day class.
This training is to help learn advanced operational techniques.
A thorough orientation to the machine.
Up to 16 hours of actual hands-on operational practice.
Upon satisfactory completion of the training, with trainee receiving 80% or higher on his or her written and hands on test, they will receive a certificate by AIS Training Center.
LEVEL III. INDIVIDUAL MACHINE ADVANCED TRAINING, ORIENTATION AND CERTIFICATION
For experienced operators who have to show proof of training or require orientation to a specific machine
A one-day machine orientation on operation and maintenance.
A hands-on demonstration of employer required operations.
Upon satisfactory completion of the training, with trainee receiving 80% or higher on his or her written test and hands on test they will receive a certificate by AIS Training Center.
